Turin is the Italian capital of chocolate and if you are a lover of the so-called "black gold", you cannot let this chance slip!
Turin’s love affair with chocolate begins in the 16th Century, when ’the food of gods’ was first imported to Italy by Charles V. It immediately became popular amongst the nobility and in royal courts, and a century later the first license was granted to sell to the public. By this time, in Turin, several manufacturing processes had already been tried out, which led, over time, to the creation of the famous Giandujotto, the indulgent Bicerin, and in more modern times, the inimitable spreadable chocolate - Nutella.
Led by your local gourmand guide, you will have an unforgettable experience tasting some of the best products in town: Bicerin in the café of the same name, where it was invented; Giandujotto and the pralines of an award-winning master chocolatier and the "Pinguino" ice cream of Pepino!

The confectionery shops and patisseries of Turin have been well-known since the 18th century. These old establishments have remained unchanged and you witness their character and atmosphere for yourself in the stunning city centre, surrounded by the arcades and picturesque squares. If you love chocolate (who doesn’t?!) you should join us on this small group tour of about 15 people. Our small group tours allow you to build a relationship with your guide, and afford you the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like, contributing to a memorable and informative experience.
Your guide will meet you in the Piazza Castello in front of Palazzo Madama. From here you will begin your walking tour, exploring the historic Old Town, and stopping along the way to visit the quaint chocolate shops and old cafes to sample the finest quality treats and learn about the process of making exquisite chocolate. In particular, you will visit a famous chocolatier, where they use a special technique, which you will learn more about during your tasting experience. The genius behind this technique is now one of the world’s most celebrated artisan chocolatiers!
You can relax outside a cafe and give in to the sweet temptations of the city. An especially necessary stop is "Al Bicerin", the cafe from which the delicious drink - a blend of chocolate, coffee and milk - takes its name; this is the place where it was invented.
The tour will end with a taste of the Pinguino ice-cream; the first ever ice-cream on a stick!
If you have a sweet tooth, you won’t want to miss this tour!
