The doors of the 17th Century Palazzo Taffini D’Acceglio, renowned for its frescoes situated in the Hall of Honor, will open in front of you thanks to the guided tour. Following the interactive exhibition through the video installations, site-specific works by international contemporary artists, instruments from the period and the characters who innovated the production techniques, the secrets of the perfumery art will be revealed: from Byzantium to Venice, following the essential oil and spice roads; the great ladies of the Italian Renaissance, caught between science and passion; the fascinating story of Eau de Cologne and his Piedmontese inventor. The exhibition installations, made by international artists, are conceived to explain in a very evocative way the metamorphosis of contemporary art into the world of officinal herbs and perfumery.

The heart of Palazzo Taffini is the Garden of Senses, designed to stimulate the visitor’s senses through the colors of flowers, the texture of the leaves and the essences’ scent.

The tour ends into the fully equipped lab at MÚSES called The Sensory Room, where you will have a go at the art of perfumery with the game “scented notes”: the peculiarity of the aromatic notes composing a perfume, the olfactory families and the virtues of some essential oils. You will be able to pick your favorite scents and to perfume a nice souvenir with it!
